A wave function mathematically describes the state of quantum particles. It is the most common representation of the [[quantum State|quantum state]]. Just like classical waves in water, wave functions can be added together to form new wave functions, which is a manifestation of [[Superposition|the superposition principle]]. The amplitude of the wave function determines the probability of observing a particle at a certain location. >[!read]- Further Reading >- [[Probability Distribution]] >- [[Quantum Mechanics]] >[!ref]- References
